Jim Swartz Joins Jennings Executive Search as Partner

Jennings Executive Search is pleased to announce that Jim Swartz has joined the firm as a Partner, focused on CFO, senior finance, and other executive searches for private equity backed companies, mid-market businesses, and Fortune 500 clients.

‍

Jim brings more than 25 years of building executive search, staffing, and professional services firms, and something rarer alongside it: he has held the seat he now recruits for. Before moving into talent, Jim was CFO of Hilton Grand Vacations Company and Disney Development Company, where he closed $1.5 billion in project financing. That experience shapes how he scopes a finance role, reads a candidate’s actual scope of authority, and advises a board on what the first year will demand.

‍

He spent the last nine years as Managing Partner at Tatum by Randstad, leading interim executive, consulting, and executive search engagements for CFOs and senior finance leaders, CHROs, general counsels, and other senior executives. That work gave him an unusually complete view of the finance leadership market, across permanent, interim, and advisory engagements.

‍

Earlier, Jim served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and board member of Kforce, formerly Romac International, where he led the sales and recruiting organizations and helped lead 13 acquisitions and two public offerings as revenue grew from $45 million to $850 million in four years. He went on to serve as CEO of Talent Tree, a $300 million private equity backed staffing firm, and as President and COO of RRD Partners, a boutique recruitment process outsourcing firm. Few people in executive search have run businesses at that scale, carried the P&L, and answered to a board themselves.

‍

At Jennings, Jim will focus on the searches where the seat is genuinely hard to fill and the cost of a mis-hire is highest: CFO and senior finance leadership inside PE-backed and growth-stage companies. His addition reflects a core element of the Jennings model. We intentionally hire recruiters with real operating experience, because functional fluency and firsthand leadership context improve how we scope roles, assess talent, and advise clients.

‍

“Jim has done every job on both sides of this business,” said Jon Jennings, Founder and Managing Partner. “He has been the CFO our clients are hiring, and he has built and run the firms that place them. That combination is rare, and it shows up in how he advises people. He tells clients what they need to hear rather than what closes a search faster.”

‍

Jim is a Georgia CPA, holds a BBA in Accounting from Georgia State University, and completed the Bell Leadership Program at UNC Chapel Hill. He lives in Atlanta.
